Donna Arrendell UAS Vice-President

Donna’s passion for scuba diving was born out of her love for the water! She swam competitively for the Woodrow Wilson Tigers and both Holy Cross College and Howard University. Donna became a certified PADI Open Water Diver on June 19, 2016 after rigorous training with the Underwater Adventure Seekers (UAS). In May of 2018 she received her Advanced Open Water Certification under the guidance of Dr. Jose Jones and Kim Walker.

Donna was fortunate enough to participate in Diving with a Purpose (DWP) Coral Restoration program in Florida in 2018. Her experience was featured on DWP’s website and blog. As a result of her overwhelming enthusiasm for diving, restoring coral and working with children she will be a Chaperone for the upcoming Youth Diving with a Purpose program in the Summer of 2019. Donna completed her EFR training in Spring 2018 in preparation for her Rescue Training to become a certified PADI Rescue Diver in September 2018.

Donna has received several specialty certifications which include: Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Diver, Underwater Navigation, Boat Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck
Diver, Coral Monitoring Level 1 Diver, and Enriched Air Diver. As a result of Donna’s love for diving and hard work, she will receive recognition for her Master Scuba Diver Certification this January 2019. She is currently studying to become a Divemaster Candidate.

Donna has had the opportunity to dive in several destinations that include Cozumel, St. Croix, Saba, Bonaire, Maui and the Florida Keys. She is looking forward to her first Liveaboard in Cuba in 2020 and in 2019 she will be diving in Fiji with UAS club members to celebrate their 60th Anniversary!

Donna is also an Associate Minister at Alfred Street Baptist Church and educator. She enjoys dancing, movies, swimming and golf, but most of all she enjoys the wonders of God’s creation under the sea!
